This was the second time I have gone to see this show. The first time was for the very first official night of previews(Oct 20th 2009) for which I unintentionally also became Canada,s first ever splash zone victim.Hmmmm to warn others which seats to avoid or not??? Nope, not gonna do it your on your own there. LOL!
Anyway tonights show (Dec 4th/09) had an added bonus. Not only were we treated to the cast amazing talents, the one and only David Bryan was present as well. He was located in the lobby (beside the bar, probably wishing for a drink) after putting up with all us crazy fans, posing for pictures and chatting us up.
My story about meeting David begins at about 7:45pm that evening. My hubby and I walk into the front lobby and see a crowd around David. Everyone is asking for picture,s and autographs ect. As we are waiting our turn,we hear these young ladies near us saying "That guy must be famous,we should get a picture with him. When we reach David ourselfs we pose for a few picture,s and have him sign my ticket stub and move away. I have no place to move to except right beside David by this bar. I put my purse on the bar and am trying to put my own camara away when the lady,s who we over heard earlier asked me to take a picture for them. (My hubby ended up doing it instead). The one posed for a picture with David, (who was all smiles at the time) then as she was ready to leave looked right at him and asked "WHO ARE YOU???" The look on David,s face was priceless.

I was just as shocked, I looked at him and said, I really think she has no clue as to who you are, He just looked at me and winked and smiled.

The show was about to start so everyone went inside to find our seats. I was once again in the front but out of the splash zone this time. David and his family/ friends were about 5 rows behind us on one the right. We could hear him laughing thru out the show. The show itself was awsome. Both my hubby I saw a difference from the first show. They were all more polished and everyone was definetly out to impress. They did. I loved the added Torontoism,s that were there. They really went over well with the audience, especially the one about Hamilton. LOL! Loved It!!!! Louise Pitre stole the show in her role as the mayor.( I thought the lady beside was going to pass out from laughing so hard during the salon scene between Ma Ferd and Mayor Babs.) Brittany was amazing in her role, and white and black dudes were a riot. Everyone was trying to make this show the best it could be and it was.I don,t think David could have found anything to complain about.Even had the entire audience laughing from start to finish. They worked hard to giveus all a great show and they should all be very proud of themselves.
After the show David once again put in his time in the lobby posing for more picture,s and signing more autographs(Hey David, that reminds me. You really should carry your own silver sharpie marker) after all I won,t be there next time to bail you out. Anyway he chatted about his work on the play but spent most of the time answereing questions about the Bon Jovi tour . I would have liked a backstage tour of the set but that was not possible but I did manage to take a photo of the stage before I was asked not to. this is the Toronto stage but Shhhh! don,t anyone tell Aubry Dan I took it. LOL!

There was a cast party with David at the little pub next door to the theater so hubby and I followed the crowd out and next door where we found a table away from there party but close enuff to see everyone. I really wanted to" crash it' and talk with the cast members but I felt that would have been rude. Any way I was able to keep my deal that I made here, that if David and or Joe ever came to Toronto to see the show and I was there I would buy them a drink in the Toxic Lounge. The lounge was not open to the public but I did have a beer with a message sent to David at his table. He sent a Thank You back to me with our waitress(Who also did not know who he was and had to have him pointed out to her first) and the pub manager as well. For myself and my hubby it was a wonderful night.
